Most of our venue operators were flat out during the festive rush and may have missed this news. The State Government rolled out some significant updates on December 12 that are now in full effect for 2026.
As we kick off the new year, here is a quick snapshot of what our local businesses need to know to stay compliant and take advantage of new opportunities:
✅ Capacity Boost: Small bars can now apply to increase patrons from 120 to 150.
📱 Digital ID: The ServiceWA app is now a legally valid form of ID. Remember: keep it hands-off!
🍸 Public Holidays: Trading hours for Xmas, Good Friday & Anzac Day have been modernized (no meal requirement!).
⚠️ Compliance: Be aware of the stricter penalties now in place.
