The Vincent CAT? ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸšŒ

The Vincent CAT? ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸšŒ, cover

Earlier today, the City of Vincent resolved to advocate to the State Government to unlock parts of the Perth Parking Levy to fund some key projects, one idea was a CAT route that connects the east-west corridor north of the City.

This piqued my curiosity as advocating for public transport has always been one of my priorities, so I had a brainstorm on how a CAT bus could work without breaking the bank on concrete and asphalt.

Some key hurdles I discovered:

1. East Parade is shocking - trying to get a bus to go under the rail bridge onto Lord St will simply not work.
2. Vincent and Beaufort St interface isn't suitable for a bus to turn at all.
3. Many of these inner city intersections simply doesn't have enough sweep for a bus to make a turn

So after much deliberation - this is a route that I landed on, an anti-clockwise circuit that connects Leederville through to Claisebrook and East Perth, hitting many key locations along the way.

Is this just me dreaming? absolutely.

But I think there's merit to the idea, if we can get our two Councils to the table to plan for our future together.
