December Council Wrap: Grinners, Snoozers & The 271% Blowout. 🏆😴
The final meeting of 2025 had it all.
The Good News?
We saw huge wins for ratepayers and residents.
The West Perth Helipad was grounded (sorry, Gina! 🚁), and the controversial "Soap Opera" Review has been put to bed. plus, the Lord Mayor’s Summer Safety Blitz is officially live.
The Bad News?
Unfortunately, standards slipped elsewhere.
🚩 We watched the Acting CEO provide verifiably wrong info to the Chamber to force a vote, we saw budget amendments with massive 271% blowouts due to poor scoping and we saw important rental reforms arrived 5 months past the deadline.
Good governance isn't just about the votes you win; it's about the standards you maintain.
