The space dedicated for our most vulnerable has been no short of media attention in the past, but this time round, the headlines have been focused elsewhere.
As the clock ticks out to the 30 months mark, the Safe Night Space is once again on the decision block - this time Ruah has applied for the space to become permanent, because without it, their temporary approval could run out right before Xmas once again.
Now of course with the way our planning laws are set out, the decision doesn't have to come to Council at all, but given the history of the premise, it is likely we'll see it before Council in the next two meetings.
Anxiously waiting for the shape and if it'll reach council this time, but in the meantime, a bit of history on how we got here.
An emotional topic for many, but ultimately this is a planning decision that must follow the enshrined planning schemes.
